Textures (http://farfarhill.blogspot.com/) Texture 1, Texture 2, Texture 3
Source- PSD File

1- Open up photoshop and create a document with the below mentioned settings

Lets take the texture out (please do credit the creator from farfarhill-awesome textures)
and this will be background we will be working with.

Lets take the pictures of Teyla, lets put a mask to her, taking off the ones that we don't need using the soft brush or easer tool, and move her to the right side

Next lets bring in John, expand and move him to the left, but leaving off the edge. Put a mask for his layer as well and use the soft brush to remove the parts that you don't

2. First select Teyla's layer and set the blending mode to Softlight, duplicate this layer and set the new copy to Pin light with an opacity of 44%
Next duplicate the first layer put it on top of all the rest, set the blending mode to normal, and the Opacity to 26%

3. John's image, set the blending mode to Softlight, duplicate this layer and set the new copy to Pin light with an opacity of 48%
Next duplicate the first layer put it on top of all the rest, set the blending mode to normal, and the Opacity to 15%

4. Now that we have finished with the images, let's add the effects to the work
Add a new adjustment layer,Selective Color, and put the below mentioned settings

Next take out the other texture and put this on top of the adjustment layer

Puting a mask (if you want) set the blending mode to Screen with an opacity of 67%, then take the brush or the easer tool, using a soft brush, rub off the parts that you don't need
For the output to be like this

For the left side, on the dark gray section, lets add another texture (credit farfarhill), move it to the exact position or any particular location that you would like and set the blending mode to Softlight

5. Next adding text
I took the rectangle tool from the tools menu (easy to identify, it looks like a rectangle) and draw a narrow rectangle at the bottom as shown below

Next let's add the text, usually I create my own words, but you can always quote a poem, use song lyrics which is the most popular ones and even their quotes.

Once its done, use Save for Web, set the normal settings and then your done.
